Exotic Species Control Officer – Drachten

Work from a boat removing invasive aquatic plants in and around Drachten. Precision work outdoors, with attention to nature and water quality.

Description

As an invasive species control worker, you will work from a boat to remove invasive aquatic plants around Drachten. You carefully remove the plants using hand tools, including the roots, to prevent regrowth. Precision is key: no fragments should be left behind or drift away, as they can spread further.

You will often work with a colleague, but sometimes independently. At the end of the day, you unload the plant waste from the boat at the designated location. This work directly contributes to a healthy and biodiverse aquatic environment.

Requirements

• You enjoy working outdoors and don’t mind getting wet
• You are precise and work carefully, even with manual tasks
• Small vessel certificate, or willing to obtain it
• Basic VCA certificate, or willing to obtain it
• You are physically able to do outdoor work
• You work well both independently and as part of a team

What we offer

• A varied job outdoors on and around the water
• Gross monthly salary between €2,216 and €3,200 (based on 37 hours, depending on knowledge and experience), according to the CAO Hoveniersbedrijf (VHG)
