Machinist Woodworker

Do you enjoy working with machines and wood, and like seeing how a piece of material transforms into a precise part of a custom product? We are looking for a Machinist Woodworker for a down-to-earth and close-knit production company. You will mainly operate a CNC-controlled machine that accurately processes wooden parts. You operate the machine, closely monitor the process, and check whether the result meets the quality standards. Experience with CNC or woodworking is a plus, but definitely not required. If you have technical insight, work accurately, and are interested in learning to work with CNC technology, this is a great opportunity to develop those skills. You will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. And a nice bonus: you have Friday afternoons off. You will be employed directly by the client.

Description

As a Machine Woodworker, you mainly operate a CNC-controlled machine. You ensure the wood is processed correctly and closely monitor the process to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Your tasks include:

• Operating CNC-controlled machines;
• Loading and processing wooden materials;
• Inspecting the processed parts;
• Identifying deviations and adjusting where necessary;
• Monitoring the quality of the final product.

The work is practical and straightforward. Some tasks are repetitive, but you contribute to complex custom products where accuracy is key.

You don’t need to know everything right away. If you have no experience with the CNC machine, you will have the opportunity to fully understand the machine and its operation through a course provided by the manufacturer.

Requirements

For this role, we are looking for someone who:

• Works accurately and carefully;
• Has technical insight;
• Enjoys practical work and operating machines;
• Has an affinity with wood and/or technology;
• Is willing to learn the CNC machine and its system;
• Can eventually work independently at the machine.

A specific qualification is not required. Experience with CNC or machine woodwork is a plus but not essential.

Experience from, for example, a joinery factory, prefab, or other wood-processing environment is an advantage.

What we offer

• A gross monthly salary of €2,800 to €3,600, depending on experience;
• A full-time workweek of 37.5 hours;

About the client

You will join a friendly and close-knit production company where craftsmanship and a quality end product are important. Your working hours are from 7:00 to 16:00, with Friday afternoons off to enjoy.

In the department, you work with a small team of about four colleagues. You have your own responsibilities but you won’t be on your own. Especially at the start, you can learn a lot from those around you.

This role has opened up because a spot in the team has become available. So, you won’t be stepping into a completely new department, but an existing workplace within a team that knows what it’s doing.

What makes this role interesting is that you don’t need years of training to get started. Technical insight, working accurately, and the willingness to understand the machine are more important.

If you already have experience with woodworking, CNC, a joinery factory or prefab, you’ll have a great advantage. But even if you’re mainly practical and enjoy working with machines, we encourage you to apply.
